At Wafer World, innovation and community go hand-in-hand. Known for our expertise in silicon wafer manufacturing, we believe progress starts with people—and education is where it begins.
That’s why we proudly donated $40,000 to Palm Beach State College’s Engineering Technology program to fund scholarships for students with financial need.
This gift was announced during PBSC’s annual STEM Reception at the Lake Worth campus. The event brought together manufacturers, educators, and students to celebrate workforce development. Companies like Pratt & Whitney, Florida Power & Light, and BLUECUBE Aerospace recognized the value of engineering education.
For students like Daisy Smitananda, PBSC wasn’t just a college—it was a path to purpose. After graduating in 2021, she went on to work at Harmsco as an engineer. Her story shows what happens when students get the right support.
CEO Sean Quinn put it plainly. There’s a shortage of skilled workers in Palm Beach County. These scholarships are about fixing that—helping great minds get the training they need to build careers and contribute locally.
This donation strengthens a growing partnership between Wafer World and PBSC. We don’t just supply wafers—we support the pipeline of talent that keeps technology advancing.
Education doesn’t thrive in isolation. It needs hands-on support from industry leaders willing to step up. That’s what we’re doing—and we’re just getting started.
